Howdy Mannoreans! This photo was taken this evening down in the warehouse district out Burnaby way where our neighborhood crows go to roost each night. It is estimated that nearly 10,000 (correct me if I'm wrong) of the black winged beasties make their way there each evening. The area is almost completely denuded and in lieu of trees the birds perch on roofs, wires, and fences - with many, many simply on the ground. An eerie and bewildering sight. Thanks Lyn for your keen knowledge of the lives of the West End critters!

Late afternoon life at the Lagoon. These photos were all taken today between 10:45am and 11:30am. The swan signet is growing fast and the tadpoles are the size of cheeseburgers! There are turtles on nearly every sunny rock and the herons have never been so tolerant.
